We offer high-quality pediatric therapy evaluations and (free) pediatric therapy screenings, as well as on-going comprehensive treatment and parent education.
If you need advice to determine the most appropriate service for your child, please contact us.
Each child requires a full evaluation in order to initiate therapy services. This evaluation will give you a detailed picture of your child’s abilities and needs along with recommendations for services, if any.
The assessment tools vary depending on the child’s age and abilities but might include:
- Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT) – private pay only.
- Miller Assessment for Preschoolers (MAP).
- Bruininks-Oseretesky Test of Motor Proficiency.
- Peabody Developmental Motor Scales.
- Sensory Processing Measure.
- Sensory Profile.
Every evaluation includes a no-charge face-to-face parent conference with the therapist to review the assessment results and answer questions. Parent conferences typically take one hour.
If you are unsure whether your child needs a complete evaluation, you might consider our free screening process.
We offer free occupational therapy screenings for children birth through 7 years of age. All screenings are performed by a state licensed and nationally-certified occupational therapist.
An occupational therapy screening uses clinical observations to look at your child’s motor coordination and/or self care skills to determine the need for further evaluation. Your child may need a screening if you have concerns regarding the above-mentioned areas or if your child is not meeting age expected developmental milestones.
Our pediatric therapists have experience working with Sensory Processing Disorder and Subtypes (also called Sensory Integration Dysfunction), Sensory-Based Feeding Disorder, Sensory-Based Learning Difficulties, Autism, Asperger Syndrome, PDD, Down Syndrome, ADD and ADHD, Gross and Fine Motor Delays, Cerebral Palsy, Neurological Disorders, Chromosomal Disorders, Executive Function Disorders, Developmental Delays, Coordination and Balance Problems, and so much more.
