We offer high-quality occupational and speech therapy evaluations and (free) occupational and speech therapy screenings, as well as on-going comprehensive treatment and parent education. If you need advice to determine the most appropriate service for your child, please contact us.
Therapy Evaluation
Each child requires a full evaluation in order to initiate therapy services. This evaluation will give you a detailed picture of your child’s abilities and needs along with recommendations for services, if any.
The assessment tools vary depending on the child’s age and abilities. We use a variety of standardized assessments, clinical observations, and parent/guardian report(s).
Every evaluation includes a no-charge face-to-face parent conference with the therapist to review the assessment results and answer questions. Each parent conference typically takes up to one hour.
If you are unsure whether your child needs a complete evaluation, you might consider our free screening process (see information below).
Therapy Screening
We offer free occupational and speech therapy screenings for children birth through seven years of age. All screenings are performed by a state licensed and nationally-certified occupational or speech therapist. A therapy screening uses clinical observations to look at your child’s skills to determine the need for further evaluation. Your child may need a screening if your child is not meeting age-expected developmental milestones.
Please note that a screening is never a replacement for a full evaluation. A full evaluation is required in order to initiate therapy services.
Our well-trained pediatric therapists have experience working with a wide variety of children and diagnoses. Learn more about our services. To schedule an appointment, please call 502.244.1210 or email info@childrenstherapy.org. We look forward to serving your child.
